About Fexofenadine
A third generation antihistamine marketed as Allegra. Fexofenadine treats allergic rhinitis and hives with the least sedation of any antihistamine. It does not cross the blood brain barrier. Fruit juices such as grapefruit, orange, and apple can reduce its absorption. Its minimal sedation makes it a common choice where alertness matters. Fexofenadine is available over the counter and is generally more expensive than cetirizine or loratadine.
