About Rosuvastatin
A potent statin that lowers LDL cholesterol more effectively than other statins. Rosuvastatin or Crestor treats high cholesterol and prevents cardiovascular disease. It is a synthetic statin, not derived from fungal fermentation. Rosuvastatin has a long half life, so dose timing matters less than for short acting statins. It is particularly effective at achieving aggressive LDL targets in high risk patients. Common side effects include headache and muscle pain.
