Naproxen
About Naproxen
A longer acting NSAID whose long half life permits less frequent dosing than short acting NSAIDs. Naproxen treats arthritis, tendonitis, gout, and menstrual pain. It may have a lower cardiovascular risk than other NSAIDs. Naproxen works by inhibiting COX 1 and COX 2. Common side effects include stomach upset. Available over the counter as Aleve. It is particularly popular for arthritis because of its long duration of action.
