Brexpiprazole
About Brexpiprazole
A serotonin dopamine activity modulator marketed as Rexulti. Brexpiprazole treats schizophrenia and is used as an adjunct for major depressive disorder. It is a partial agonist at dopamine and serotonin receptors, similar to aripiprazole but designed to reduce restlessness. Brexpiprazole has a more favorable tolerability profile than older antipsychotics. Dosing differs between its depression and schizophrenia indications. The drug represents refinement of partial agonist antipsychotic design.
