About Pregabalin

A medication similar to gabapentin but with more predictable absorption. Pregabalin or Lyrica treats neuropathic pain, fibromyalgia, and seizures. It was the first FDA approved treatment for fibromyalgia. Pregabalin has linear pharmacokinetics, meaning blood levels increase predictably with dose. The drug is a Schedule V controlled substance due to abuse potential. Pregabalin is expensive and was heavily marketed by Pfizer. Common side effects include dizziness, sleepiness, and weight gain.
