A DPP 4 inhibitor that enhances the bodys own incretin hormones. Sitagliptin or Januvia treats type 2 diabetes by prolonging the action of GLP 1, a hormone that stimulates insulin release after meals. It is well tolerated with minimal risk of hypoglycemia.
